Effective date: [to be set when approved]
Lawyer to confirm: company legal name (DoiHouse LLC once registered), address, and which state and federal privacy laws apply (e.g. Ohio, plus any state where users live).
Who we are
DoiHouse is an app that connects households (“customers”) with local helpers (“workers”) for home jobs in Bowling Green and Toledo, Ohio.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, and whether you’re a customer or a worker.
- Customers: your home address, the jobs you post (service, time, price, notes and photos).
- Workers: profile photo, bio, hourly rate, years of experience, services, ZIP codes and weekly availability.
- Location: a worker’s phone location only at the moment they tap “Check in” and “Mark job complete”. We don’t track location at other times.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We don’t see or store full card numbers; we keep payment amounts and status.
- Reviews and problem reports you write.
- Notifications: a device token so we can send you job updates.
- Background checks (workers, coming soon): run by Checkr with your separate written consent.
- Website waitlist: your email, ZIP code, and whether you want help or want to work.
Lawyer to review: background-check data handling (FCRA), and whether any data counts as sensitive under applicable law.
How we use it
- To run the app: match jobs and workers, take payments, hold and release money, and settle problems.
- To share what’s needed for a job: after booking, the customer and worker see each other’s name and phone, and the worker sees the address.
- To show reviews and ratings on profiles.
- To send job updates and, for the waitlist, to tell you when DoiHouse reaches your area.
- To keep the service safe and prevent fraud.
Who we share it with
- Stripe (payments and worker payouts), Supabase (our database and file storage), Expo (push notifications), and Checkr (worker background checks, coming soon).
- The other person on your job, only as described above.
- When required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
Lawyer to confirm the “do not sell / share” wording and any required disclosures.
How long we keep it
Lawyer and owner to decide retention periods (accounts, job records, payment records, location stamps, waitlist sign-ups).
Your choices
- You can update your profile in the app.
- You can turn off notifications in your phone’s settings.
- To delete your account or your waitlist sign-up, email us (below).
Lawyer to confirm user rights wording. Note: the App Store requires an in-app way to delete an account โ planned before launch.
Children
DoiHouse is for adults 18 and over.
